The Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival is Korea’s premier rock festival. It features performances by world-renowned rock bands as well as talented emerging bands. The festival is highly popular because of its exclusive lineup. One of the major highlights of the festival is the outdoor Camping Zone, where attendees can set up tents with a view of the stage and stay for three days. Memorial to the Loyal Dead (호국충혼위령비)

When the fate of the nation was hanging by a thread as the North Korean Army launched an invasion of the South on June 25, 1950, about 1,100 officers and men from the South Korean First Division's 11th, 12th, and 15th regiment retreated to Gimpo and built the last line of defense on Gaehwasan Mountain from June 26 to 30 to fight against a large army of North Korean soldiers disguised as South Korean men.

Unfortunately, their communication with the headquarters was cut off and their supply of ammunition and food ran out. As a result, the entire South Korean force was killed by the much larger North Korean army in a valley around Gaehwasan Mountain. In order to commemorate those who died for the country, the government established the Memorial to the Loyal Dead on Gaehwasan Mountain in 1994. A memorial service is also held here annualy on June 28th.

Siheung Gaetgol Festival (시흥갯골축제)

By incorporating games and activities, Siheung Gaetgol Festival aims to raise awareness about ecology, the environment, and family. “Gaetgol” refers to the water channels flowing through tidal flats during low tide, home to various halophytes, wetland creatures, and over 60 species of birds, making it an ecological treasure trove. The festival features a wide range of exciting programs. The activities include the “Eco-orienteering Mission Game,” where participants wear “Family Run” T-shirts and explore the festival grounds, a salt playground on the salt pans, Gaetgol Metaverse Family Run, Gaetgol Test, and Family Speed Quiz. Families completing the missions receive a completion medal from the festival.

Don‘t miss the Acoustic Festival, Jazz Concert, and Gaetgol Moonlight Night Tour set against the backdrop of the salt playground at the old salt field and Gaetgol. Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park (시흥 갯골생태공원)

Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park in Gyeonggi-do features the nation's only inland beach along the shores of a river that ebbs and flows with the ocean tide. The park offers the chance to learn about the traditional salt-making techniques, as well as the many unique flora that grow here. The park was designated as a National Ocean Wetland Protection Zone in February 2012.
