Namwon Traditional Lacquer Craft Center is a lacquer crafts exhibition hall that opened in 2004 to spread lacquer culture, research on lacquer technology, and foster the younger generations. In Namwon, lacquer woodworking has been developed since ancient times, and traces of lacquerwork from the Bronze Age were discovered here. Accordingly, this craft center was built to establish Namwon as a central city for lacquer crafts through continuous research and development.
This two-story center consists of an exhibition hall, a store, an experience room, a laboratory, an audio-visual education room, and a training room. The exhibition hall displays awardwinning craft works and various lacquered crafts such as bowls, furniture, spoons and chopsticks, cabinets with flower and grass designs, tables, janggu (hourglass-shaped drum) sticks, and utensils used in ancestral rites. In addition, it operates experience programs for the general public and a store that sells lacquer crafts.

Visitors can see Jeonju Madang Changgeuk and the "FANTASIE" series of performing arts, which is a genre-neutral performance of Eastern and Western works. The exhibition room displays paintings, sculptures, and engravings. The center provides traditional cultural experience programs, such as traditional food cooking, hanji (traditional Korean paper) crafts, tea ceremonies, and folk paintings. Traditional weddings are also available in the center.

The Midang Literary House is a memorial center for the great poet Seo Jeong-Ju (penname ‘Midang’) built in Seonun-ri in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, where the poet was born and is buried. In the fall of 2001, a year after the poet’s death, the center opened on November 3rd on the anniversary of the Gwangju Student Movements (1929 and 1930), which took place while Midang attended Jungang High School. Located adjacent to the center are the poet’s birth house and grave.
Housed in a renovated branch of Seonun Elementary School, the Midang Literary House was structurally designed to convey the architectural concepts of 'eco-friendly' and 'learning.’
