Le temple Cheoneunsa se trouve également dans la région de Samcheok. Le lettré Lee Seung-hyu y a résidé durant son exil, et y a écrit le Jewang Ungi, poème historique de la fin de la période Goryeo. Le nom « Duta » est un terme bouddhiste signifiant « retraite bouddhiste loin du monde ».
