Pavillon Jinnamgwan à Yeosu (여수 진남관)

Le bâtiment Jinnamgwan (classé comme trésor national n°304), était une base navale de la province de Jeolla-do pendant la dynastie Joseon. L’amiral Yi Sun-shin l’utilisait comme quartier de base et il y avait à cette époque une tour de garde appelée Jinhaeru. L’immeuble originel fut incendié pendant Jeongyujaeran (la seconde invasion japonaise en 1597), mais l’amiral Yi Si-eon construisit sur le côté incendié de la tour une grande maison (résidence officielle) avec 75 chambres en 1599, soit une année après la conclusion des accords de fin de guerre de Imjinwaeran (invasion japonaise entre 1592 et 1598).

Dans l’entrée du hall se trouve un petit musée retraçant l’histoire des guerres de Jinnamgwan et Imjinwaeran, et la célèbre statue de pierre de Yeosu (un bien classé comme propriété culturelle tangible n°33 de la province du Jeollanam-do) est située dans le hall. Quelques destinations alentours sont à ne pas manquer, à l’exemple du parc Jasan, l’île d’Odongdo, le pont de Dolsan, le sanctuaire Chungminsa et la plage de Manseongni.
