Soswaewon à Damyang (담양 소쇄원)

Soswaewon est un parc privé représentatif de l’époque de Joseon où a survécu un esthétisme d’antan. Il fut conçu par Yang Sanbo (1503-1557) après que celui-ci eut décidé de renoncer à toute carrière suite à la mort de son maître vénéré Jo Gwangjo (1482-1519). Sosoewon est un parc clair et frais, où flotte en son bois de bambous une atmosphère digne de ces ermites qui appréciaient la douceur d’une vie modeste mais paisible.

Sur les collines en bas desquelles serpente un ruisseau qui traverse le parc ont été plantés diverses plantes et arbres dont des pêchers. En deça des murs, des pentes douces mène le ruisseau sur des rochers. Ajouté à cela, la présence d’un petit pont de bois qui enjambe le ruisseau apporte une touche de charme supplémentaire . Une cascade artificielle fabriquée par une roue à eau illustre l’harmonie entre nature et art. Ce bel espace naturel s’est docilement transformé en parc. Soswaewon se trouve à environ 150m de la route. Son entrée se fait par un luxuriant bois de bambous. En avançant sur la gauche apparaîtra un vallon puis le parc en lui même.
