Gochang-eup Sunghanok Village / 고창읍성한옥마을

Gochangeupseong Fortress Hanok Village located in Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do is comprised of seven houses with tiled roofs. Built by Gochang-gun Office in July 2014 and managed by a company commissioned for the maintenance of the estate, it’s designed after the traditional Korean house with guestrooms attached to the government office within Gochangeupseong Fortress. The seven stand-alone buildings make sure that the guests have some privacy during their stay. There are a total of 11 rooms. The first building, called “Moyangjigwan”, is designed after the old guestroom for high-ranking officials and foreign envoys passing through the region. It has two rooms, which are called “Junghwaje” and “Gunjajeong”. The second building, called “Binpungdang”, is a traditional Korean house designed after the main building of an actual traditional Korean house that served as the residence of the official in charge of the region. This also has two rooms called "Muilje" and "Binaje", both of which can accommodate between two and three people. The third one, called “Sugwidang”, has two rooms named “Uhaje” and “Sungdeokje”. The fourth building, called “Eunyangdang”, has two rooms named "Yongdeokje" and "Yuseongje", which can accommodate between two and three people each. The "Yongdeokje" is furnished with a bed. The last three houses, called "Agwanjeong", "Dongnijeong", and "Dongbaekjeong", are stand-alone buildings, and each can accommodate up to three people. The buildings and rooms are clean, and are characterized by their shiny wood. There is an open space with wooden floor between the rooms called "daecheongmaru", and a yard in front of the buildings. The rooms are furnished with a bathroom, TV, air conditioner, refrigerator, built-in closet, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Right next to the Hanok Village is a pottery workshop and emobroidery workshop for visitors to experience traditional Korean art. There are a number of tourist destinations in the vicinity of the Hanok Village, such as Gochang County Art Museum, Gochang Culture Center, and Gochang County Library, which is within Gochang Culture Center. Another must-visit is the Gochang Pansori Museum, where various pansori materials donated by a number of pansori masters from Gochang are on display. There are a number of large country clubs in Gochang, such as Seonun Country Club, Gochang Country Club, and Seokjeong Country Club. There is a parking lot that can hold up to 150 cars for the guests right next to the Hanok Village.

Juknokwon (Jardin de Bambous) (죽녹원)

Juknokwon (죽녹원) dans Damyang est une forêt de bambous cultivés par la ville de Damyang. Seonginsan montagne derrière Damyang Hyanggyo (école confucéenne) a été transformé en Juknokwon (Jardin de Bambous) disposant d'une belle chute d'eau artificielle, un pavillon, des sentiers pédestres et un centre d'éco-exposition, une destination populaire pour les visiteurs. Il faut environ 1 heure pour le tour du jardin tout entier. Crossing Bridge Hyanggyo de Jungnogwon, une forêt pour la prévention des inondations peuvent être vus. Lumières sont allumées le soir dans la forêt de bambous pour marcher la nuit.

Forteresse Gochangeupseong (고창읍성)

Gochangeupseong est une forteresse naturelle construite par des civils en 1453. Un immeuble de bureaux du gouvernement de l'époque Joseon a ensuite été reconstruite dans les murs. Ici, les visiteurs peuvent voir un exemple de la Corée du architecture traditionnelle forteresse et se promener à proximité, au milieu un décor naturel magnifique.

Demeure Sin Jae-hyo à Gochang (고창 신재효 고택)

Sin Jae-hyo (1812-1884) désigne un théroricien légendère et grand maître du pansori (chant traditionnel coréen). Ce savant a passé sa vie entière à Gochang-gun, abordant de nombreuses disciplines avant de devenir un spécialiste pansori. Il est connu aussi pour avoir édité six pansori madangs (opéras de pansori) intitulés Ttoggi Taryeong, Bak Taryeong, Simcheongga, Jeokbyeokga, Chunhyangga et Garujigi Taryeong.

Musée du pansori de Gochang (고창판소리박물관)

Le musée du pansori de Gochang a été créé sur le site de l’ancienne residence de Dongni Sin Jae-hyo (Dongni est son nom de plume), théoricien, arrangeur et mécène de pansori. Le musée a pour but de rendre hommage à plusieurs grands chanteurs de pansori (incluant Sin Jae-hyo) et d’entretenir et de poursuivre la tradition héréditaire du Pansori. A présent, seul le Sarangchae (annexe utilisée par les hommes pour étudier ou accueillir des invités) a été reconstruit, et juste à côté se trouve le Dongni Gugakdang (salle de musique traditionnelle coréenne). Le musée présente les objets personnels laissés par Sin Jae-hyo, ainsi qu’un millier d’objets et documents d’une grande importance historique liés au Pansori et aux grands chanteurs de la région, permettant au grand public d’apprécier du pansori de qualité et d’en savoir plus sur cet art traditionnel.

La Forêt Gwanbangjerim (관방제림)

Située à Damyang, dans la province de Jeollanam-do, Gwangbangjerim (Monument Naturel numéro 366) est une forêt cultivée le long du bord de la rivière Damyangcheon parcourant le comté. Cette forêt longue de 2 km s’étend du village Dongjeong à Namsan-ri jusqu’à Hwanggeum-ri, Subuk-myeon et Gangui-ri, Daejeon-myeon. Gwangbangjerim est une forêt spéciale créée par l’homme afin de prévenir un éventuel débordement de la rivière et possède de nombreux gros arbres vieux de 200 à 300 ans.

La forêt est si belle qu’elle fut choisie comme étant la plus belle du pays par le Service Forestier de Corée. Afin de profiter de la beauté de la nature, les touristes s’y rendent en nombre tout le long de l’année. Son parc de sculptures fait aussi partie des lieux incontournables. Les sites tourisistiques situés à proximité sont le jardin de bambou de Jungnogwon et la route des metasequoias.
