일본이 한국의 금융계를 지배하고자 하는 목적으로 세워진 구 인천일본18은행지점은 1890년에 준공되어 그 해 10월에 개점하였으나 은행으로서의 업무가 언제까지 계속되었는지는 기록이 없는 상태이며, 1954년에는 한국흥업은행지점으로 사용되었다. 축조양식은 단층으로 고전적 장식의 절충주의 양식으로 벽체는 조적 위에 몰탈마감으로 기둥부위와 기단부위는 돌로 마감되어 있다. 출입구의 석주 양식은 아주 정교하게 시공되어 있으며 지붕은 목조 트러스 위에 일식기와로 모임지붕 형태를 하고 있어 이국적인 분위기를 자아내고 있다. 현재는 중구 개항장 일대의 근대건축물의 현황을 소개하는 전시관으로 활용되고 있다.

La plate-forme des arts à Incheon se trouve dans le quartier de Haean-dong, Jung-gu. Cet endroit est reconnu pour sa valeur historique et son patrimoine architectural admirablement bien préservé, établi après l’ouverture de la Corée aux pays étrangers et incluant également des bâtiments construits dans les années 1930 et 1940. Les quartiers des alentours possèdent aussi un grand intérêt architectural et historique, avec des bâtiments construits selon les techniques modernes.

La plate-forme des arts a été créée en remodelant des immeubles construits dans les années 1930 et 1940 et en réhabilitant des bâtiments datant de l’ouverture de la Corée aux pays étrangers, comme celui de la Nippon Yusen Kaisha (classé bien culturel n° 248). Cet endroit est composé de treize bâtiments incluant un studio, une bibliothèque, un centre de formation, des salles d’exposition et des salles de spectacle. Il a pu voir le jour grâce à la résolution de la municipalité et aux aspirations des citoyens à mettre le plus possible en valeur les caractéristiques historiques de la ville.

Centré autour de la plate-forme des arts de Incheon, le quartier va devenir un vaste musée à ciel ouvert, qui fait et représente en lui-même un effort considérable afin de préserver l’histoire tout en réinterprétant le passé selon les perspectives d’aujourd’hui.

Le Festival de Films de la Diaspora se déroule dans la ville d'Incheon et a été conçu en s'inspirant de la vie des Juifs, qui préservent leur culture tout en étant dispersés à travers le monde. En 1902, le premier bateau d'émigrants de Corée a quitté le port d'Incheon pour Hawaï, marquant le début de l'histoire de l'émigration coréenne. Incheon est ainsi devenue une ville représentative de l'histoire de l'émigration en Corée, gardant en elle les récits et l'histoire des migrations. Le Festival de Films de la Diaspora vise à rappeler cette signification historique, à se solidariser avec les personnes marginalisées face à la discrimination et aux préjugés, et à promouvoir les valeurs de diversité et de tolérance à travers le cinéma. Le festival met en lumière divers sujets liés à la diaspora et crée un espace pour explorer en profondeur les problèmes de migration dans notre société, offrant aux spectateurs des bases pour la coexistence et l'harmonie. Depuis son lancement en 2013, le Festival de Films de la Diaspora a connu une croissance continue et célèbre cette année sa 13e édition dans la ville accueillante d'Incheon, devenant un festival représentatif de la Corée du Sud au-delà d'Incheon.

Le quartier Chinatown d'Incheon est apparu suite à l'ouverture du port d'Incheon en 1883, Incheon étant alors devenu une région extra territoriale de la dynastie Ching. Par le passé de nombreux magasins proposaient des produits importés de Chine mais aujourd'hui on y trouve principalement des restaurants.

Aujourd'hui, les résidents chinois de la zone sont des descendants de 2ème et 3ème génération des premiers chinois installés dans le quartier. Bien qu'une partie du cachet d'origine du quartier ait disparu, on peut toujours y retrouver beaucoup de saveurs de Chine. Le site fait parti du TOP 100 des destinations touristiques en Corée.
