La Playa Haeundae es probablemente el balneario más famoso del país. La Playa Haeundae tiene 1,5 km de longitud y 30 a 50 m de ancho, alcanzando una superficie de 58.400 ㎡. Su blanca arena es áspera y se adhiere fácilmente a la piel. La arena de esta playa está compuesta por granos provenientes del arroyo Chuncheoncheon y los restos de conchas desintegradas naturalmente por la acción del viento a lo largo de mucho tiempo. La playa Haeundae es también famosa por los numerosos y variados eventos culturales que organiza a lo largo de todo el año.
