La isla Oryukdo se encuentra localizada al sur de la ciudad de Busan, y gracias a las condiciones meteorológicas del día y la marea, se pueden llegar a ver cinco islas o seis, de allí su nombre (O significa "cinco", ryuk significa "seis", y do se refiere a isla). Designado como monumento de Busan, la isla Oryukdo es una isla meramente de roca. De las cinco islas que se extienden de la tierra firme, solo la isla del faro está habitada por personas, el resto son islotes deshabitados. El grupo de islas está compuesto de las islas Usakdo, Surido, Gonggoto, Guldo y Deungdaedo (faro); pero debido a que la parte inferior de Usakdo se divide en dos segmentos que parecen dos islas, a veces la isla Usakdo recibe el nombre de Bangpaedo o isla Sol, según el nivel del agua. Muchos barcos que llegan a Busan pasan por la isla Oryukdo por lo que estas islas son el símbolo de la ciudad.
