La estación de esquí de High1 Ski Resort tiene un total de 18 pistas, siendo la longitud total de 21 km. Es la tercera pista más larga de Corea, detrás de las de Yongpyong (32 km.) y Muju (22 km. operativos de longitud de pista), y es también la tercera instalación de esquí más grande, que tiene 3 teleféricos y 5 telesillas que conectan las pistas. La Estación de Esquí de High1 Resort tiene sinuosas pistas de valle, y, desde la cima de la montaña, puede disfrutar de un emocionante descenso. La telesilla lleva a varias personas hasta arriba de la pista, y las pistas para principiantes, intermedios y avanzados están situadas en el mismo lugar. También tiene un restaurante giratorio panorámico, la “Cima de la Montaña” (The Mountain Top), que gira alrededor una vez cada hora, proporcionando una vista magnífica de los montes Jijangsan y Baegunsan.

El monte Hambaeksan es el más alto de la zona de Baekdudaegan, al que se puede llegar en coche. El área es la reserva de carbón más importante y el tren industrial de la línea Taebaek atraviesa la parte norte de la montaña. Construido por el monje Jajang Yulsa durante el 5to. año del reinado de la Gran Reina Seondeok, el templo Jeongamsa está cerca del hábitat natural de la trucha manchuriana. Ha sido designado Monumento Natural y tiene una pagoda de piedra de 7 niveles, designado Tesoro Natural. Los caminos desde las colinas Manhangjae y Dumundongjae hasta la cima de la montaña poseen vistas de ensueño. Una variedad de flores se abren en cada estación, proveyendo un hermoso escenario. El Festival de las Flores Silvestres del Monte Hambaeksan se realiza en esta montaña, así como en la colina Manhangjae.

Monte Mindungsan (민둥산)

Situado en Jeongseon (Gangwon-do), el monte Mindungsan (1,118.8m) es un sitio inusual en comparación con otros picos nacionales. Como su nombre indica (montaña desnuda), hay pocos árboles cerca de su cumbre. Los lugareños también lo llaman monte Eoksaesan (hierba plateada) debido a las olas de juncos eoksae que cubren sus lados. Antiguamente se quemaban los campos una vez al año para fomentar el crecimiento de hierbas silvestres.

La pendiente gradual de la montaña ofrece una experiencia de senderismo agradable para excursionistas de todos los niveles. A mediados de octubre, la hierba plateada, que llega hasta la cintura, está en todas partes, por lo que se convierte en un reto para los aventureros ver las áreas circundantes. Algunos puntos próximos al pico ofrecen vistas impresionantes de crestas suaves y laderas.

El pasto plateado comienza a florecer en septiembre, llegando a su plenitud entre octubre y noviembre. Así se lleva a cabo el Festival del Eoksae del Monte Mindungsan cada octubre, atrayendo a cientos de miles de participantes a una maravillosa experiencia de senderismo al aire libre y oportunidades para sacar fotografías impresionantes. La montaña es fácilmente accesible en tren, permitiendo a los visitantes disfrutar de los colores del otoño de cerca y lejos.

En las afueras del monte Mindungsan, cerca del pueblo de Balgudeok, se encuentra el valle de Goebyeonggol, que posee magníficas formaciones rocosas y cuevas de piedra caliza. Otras atracciones cercanas incluyen Hwaam Yaksu (lugar de agua de manantial), Auraji Naruteo famoso por crear Jeongseon Arirang (una versión local de la canción popular tradicional arirang), y el monte Gariwangsan (conocido por el ginseng silvestre).
