Bungeoseom Island was created as a result of the construction of the Chuncheon Dam. The island was turned into a green recreational site with environmentally friendly facilities. Visitors can enjoy soccer, tennis, and walking trails, as well as an outdoor stage and drinking fountains. The island has also been used as a filming location for many dramas and movies. The stream around the island is filled with a variety of fish, making it a popular location for fishermen.

King Canoe Quay (킹카누 나루터)

King Canoe Quay is the only place in Korea to experience Canadian canoes. They also created the first 12-seater Canadian canoe. It's an eco-friendly sport that produces neither noise nor the smell of oil. Canoes on tranquil lakes provide an opportunity to see another world from the earth because one is closer to the horizon. Take a wooden canoe along the Bukhangang River with the sound of water and enjoy the charm of the lake city Chuncheon. There are four major courses provided by King Canoe Quay: Uiam Dam, Bungeoseom Island, Hajungdo Island, and Uiamho Lake. The guide will also tell riders interesting stories related to Uiamho Lake on the canoe.

Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival (얼음나라화천 산천어축제)

The Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is a unique winter festival that was selected by CNN as one of the “seven wonders of winter” in 2011. The festival is held when Hwacheoncheon Stream freezes over, and visitors can enjoy ice fishing. During the festival, visitors can catch sancheoneo (cherry salmon), nicknamed the “Queen of the Valley,” through holes drilled in the ice and then taste their catch by grilling it or having it prepared at the sliced raw fish center. In addition to ice fishing, there are lure and barehand fishing and fun activities such as sledding, bobsledding, and ice soccer. The festival is a popular event among people of all ages, attracting more than 1 million visitors every year.
