Changnyongmun Gate (창룡문)

Changnyeongmun Gate, the eastern gate of Hwaseong Fortress, is similar in shape and size to Hwaseomun Gate to the east. Something to take note of is the nameplate carved into the wall left of the gate. While the names on the polished granite at the other three main gates have become obscure over time, the nameplate at Changnyeongmun Gate is still clearly visable.

Gwangmyeong Cave (광명 동굴)

Gwangmyeong Cave was developed in 1912 during the Japanese colonial period to exploit resources, including gold mines, and continued to be developed for industrial purposes after liberation. After the mine was closed in 1972, it was used as a salted seafood warehouse for about 40 years. Gwangmyeong City purchased the site, reorganized it, and made it available to the public. It is currently recognized as a modern industrial heritage site with high historical value, and is well known as a cave theme park in the metropolitan area. Along with the cave, colorful lights and sculptures create a spectacular sight. Aside from tasting and purchasing Korean wine at the Gwangmyeong Wine Cave, visitors can also see the largest media art piece in Korea at the Lascaux Exhibition Hall, enjoying a more diverse travel experience.

Ssukgogae (쑥고개)

Ssukgogae is a Korean and Western fusion restaurant situated at the beginning of Syarosu-gil. The standout menu item is the tong samgyeop kimchi jjim (braised whole pork belly with kimchi), a robust and spicy dish prepared with whole pork belly and soft bean curd. Another crowd-pleaser is the chicken cheongyang cream pasta (deep-fried chicken and cheongyang chili pepper cream pasta), featuring crispy fried shrimp and deep-fried chicken generously layered on soy cream sauce. The waffle gamja jeon (potato pancake), crispy and adorned with grated grana padano cheese, also earns acclaim. Seoul Gwanmunsa Temple (관문사(서울))

Located at the foot of Umyeonsan Mountain in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Gwanmunsa Temple had its ground-breaking ceremony in 1993 and construction was completed in October 1998.

The temple site has a total area of 22,148.76 ㎡ with seven ground levels and four basement levels. The temple was constructed with a mixture of modern and traditional Buddhist architectural designs. Inside the temple, cutting-edge facilities are used for various cultural events, conferences, and sacred ceremonies.

Neighbored by Cheonggyesan Mountain, Umyeonsan Mountain, and Yangjaecheon Stream, the temple is located near many natural spots visitors can enjoy. In particular, Umyeonsan Mountain (alt. 293 m), where Gwanmunsa Temple is located, gets its name for its shape resembling a cow lying down. Designated as a city park and managed by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Umyeonsan Mountain has several valleys with clear spring waters and a dense forest inhabited by diverse animals and plants.
