Paju’s Unification Village is located north of the Civilian Control Line (CCL). It has security tour locations, such as Panmunjeom, The 3rd Tunnel, and the Dora Observatory. The village is also famous for its agricultural products, such as Jangdan ginseng, Jangdan soybeans, and Jangdan rice, grown in the fertile and blessed nature of the area. Applications for Panmunjeom visits can be made a month in advance, starting from the 10th day of that month. Visitors are required to bring their passports for identification purposes. The Jangdankong beans used here are known for their robust, savory flavor, distinguishing them from other beans. Paju Book City was formed in 1989 by a group of publishers who sought to modernize the distribution structure of Korea’s publishing industry. The addition of structures later on created its current form as a cultural complex. Today, Paju Book City is home to a large collection of publishing houses, printing companies, and bookbinding companies. Some publishing houses run their own libraries, secondhand book shops, and thematic libraries. There are plenty of book cafés and art shops in the area, and visitors can also occasionally enjoy cultural events, lectures, and concerts by publishing houses.

Dora Observatory is the closest DMZ observatory to Panmunjeom. From Dora Observatory, one can see not only the Panmunjeom but also the village of Daeseong-dong within the DMZ, mountains and farmlands on the North Korean side, and the city of Gaeseong, a North Korean city and the historic capital of Goryeo (918-1392). Individual visits are not allowed. The observatory can only be accessed through the DMZ Peace Tour, which embarks from Imjingak Pavilion after reservation. All visitors are required to bring their identification, such as passports or Alien Registration Card (ARC).

Byukchoji Gardens is made up of a Korean-style and a European-style garden. It is home to nearly 1,400 species of plants. Byukchoji Pond has a Lotus Flower Garden with lotus flowers blooming. Visitors can walk on the trails built above the pond to examine the flowers up close.
