Odusanseong Fortress is built around the strategic summit of Odusasn Mountain. The walls stretch across roughly 620 meters and were built during the Baekje dynasty. The fortress is built on the intersection of the Imjingang River and the Hangang River on the summit of Odusan Mountain (119 meters). The mountain’s slope is steep and stones used in the construction of the fortress walls are scattered here and there at the summit. These scattered stones are evidence that the fortress underwent repairs several times during the Samguk (Three Kingdoms) era and the Joseon dynasty, as these stones were evidently quarried and used to mend the fortress walls. Excavations have discovered a great deal of earthenware, white porcelain, tile, and iron arrowheads. Topographically, the fortress sits on a prime strategic junction and the Unification Observatory has been situated there as well. The fortress stands as an important object of study concerning fortifications and structures from the Baekje dynasty. It has been recorded on the stele of King Gwanggaeto, Samguksagi (History of the Three Kingdoms), in the Naekjebongi (Baekje Annals) and on Daedongyeojido (Map of Korea) that the fortress was the Gwanmi Fortress of Baekje, attracting many scholars and researchers interested in this period.

Located in Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Odusan Unification Observatory was established to console the feelings of dispersed families and provide an educational site for the unification education through 5F to B1 in 1992.
The observatory is situated in the northernmost ceasefire line of the western front where the Hangang River and Imjingang River meet. It offers a wide view of Songaksan Mountain in Gaeseong to the north and 63 Building in Seoul to the south. Also, it is a valuable unification security tourist attraction related to Imjingak, the 3rd Tunnel, and Panmunjeom (Joint Security Area) stretching along Jayu-ro Road in the northeast.
Since its opening, almost 1,900,000 people have visited the observatory to feel the reality of the division, making this area the best national unification education site.

Minmeoru Beach (민머루해변)

Minmeoru Beach is a beach on Seongmodo Island, a small island to the west of Ganghwado Island. Visitors can enjoy sea bathing on the vast stretch of sandy beach and watch beautiful sunsets over the West Sea. When the tide goes out, a mud flat of approximately one kilometer in length appears. The mud flat is very smooth and is home to marine life including clams, crabs, and more. It is recommended for visitors to wear rubber boots or shoes when walking on the mud flat to prevent injuring their feet. The Eoryujeonghang Harbor and Janggothang Harbor are located nearby, so visitors can also enjoy sea fishing. Popular tourist attractions in the vicinity include Maaekseokbul (a Buddha image carved on a cliff) and Bomunsa Temple, which is said to have been constructed by Queen Seondeok during the Silla period.

The Beautiful House with the Glow of Sunset, located on Seokmodo Island of Ganghwa-gun, is a pension where you can appreciate the beautiful sunset in a quiet room. All its rooms have an ocean view. The pension opened in 2000, and the last episode of “The Baby Book of GOD,” an entertainment program of MBC, was filmed at this place. There is also an indoor BBQ place with a wide table and a fireplace; thus, it is possible to enjoy BBQ regardless of season and weather. The Sunset Garden is a wild flower garden tended by the owner of the pension who planted the seedlings himself. Different wild flowers bloom and fall off each season, and there are fruit trees, too. Handmade fruit syrups made with the fruits picked in the garden such as plum and quince are used for the beverage served in the café, of the side dishes to be eaten with Assorted BBQ. Walking along the marine promenade from the Sunset Garden, you will soon get to the beach and the vast mud flat where you can enjoy the charm of the West Sea which shows a varied landscape by the alternation of ebb and flood. If you carry a tool, you can experience the tideland catching clams and crabs. The Seokmodo Mineral Hot Spring, which opened in January of 2017, is frequented by travelers who like to bathe in hot springs.
