The Youngpoong Book store in Gangnam is located in the basement of Central City's Young Plaza, the area's giant shopping mall. It is 3600 pyong (pyong = 2.2 m2), roughly 600 pyong larger than the Jongno store. It provides all the latest cultural information and features a book café, event hall, magazine plaza, and information center. Kirche Chungdong (정동교회)

Die Kirche Chungdong wurde im Jahre 1888 fertiggestellt und ist somit Koreas erste Protestantische Kirche. Die Kirche hatte zu Beginn eine Größe von 379,5 m², aber nachdem im Jahre 1926 zu jedem Flügelweitere Gebäude hinzugefügt wurden, hat sie nun eine Größe von 574,2 m².

Die Kirche wurde zur 256. größten Errungenschaft erklärt und zeigt auf perfekte Weise nordamerikanische, gotische Architektur. Innerhalb der Kirche steht eine Büste ihres Gründers, des Ministers Appenzeller, sowie eine 50-Jahre Gedenkstätte. Im Jahr 1889 erschien die Kirche in einer monatlichen Ausgabe des Magazins „Church“ als erster Ort für Koreas Sommer-Bibelstudienrunde und als eine der führenden Kirchen in der Mission. Die Chungdong Kirche ist im Zentrum der wunderbaren Chungdong Strasse gelegen. Vor allem im Herbst ist sie schön anzusehen, wenn die Blätter von den Bäumen fallen und die Strasse bedecken. Das Chungdong Theater, der Deoksugung-Palast und das Seoul Kunstmuseum liegen in der direkten Umgebung und machen daher diesen Bereich zu einem idealen touristischen Ziel.

Jongmyodaeje Festival (종묘대제)

Jongmyodaeje sind traditionelle Ahnenriten, die von der UNESCO als immaterielles Kulturerbe ernannt wurden. Das Ritual wird jedes Jahr am ersten Sonntag im Mai abgehalten. Es beginnt mit einer königlichen Parade aus der Joseon-Zeit, die vom Palast Gyeongbokgung bis zum Schrein Jongmyo verläuft.
