Situé sur le mont Dobisan à Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, le temple Buseoksa a été construit durant l’ère Silla. Le temple a été construit par le grand moine Uisang en 677, la 17éme année du roi Munmu de Silla, et a été reconstruit plus tard par le grand moine Muhak pendant la dynastie Joseon.

Temple Seogwangsa à Seosan (서광사(서산))

Le temple de Seogwangsa se trouve dans un quartier tranquille du centre ville à Eupnae-dong, Seosan dans la province du Chungcheongnam-do. On peut aisément y accéder facilement depuis n’importe où en ville.

Le temple a été construit par le grand moine Daegyeong en 928 à la fin de la période Silla, et le lettré Choi Chiwon y vint pour étudier alors qu’il était gouverneur de Buseong-gun (actuelle Seosan) en 893. A l’origine, le temple s’appelait Samseonam (les trois hermitages) car il y avait trois hermitages en haut, au milieu et en bas du mont Buchunsan. Vers la fin de la dynastie Joseon, les hermitages du sommet et du milieu ont fermé et seul celui du bas a été préservé. En 1987, le temple a été rebaptisé « Seogwangsa ».

Le mont Buchunsan n’est pas très élevé ; toutefois, ses pinèdes et ses fleurs sauvages en font un joli parcours de randonnée pour les habitants de Seosan. En hiver, ses paysages enneigés sont magnifiques.

The House of Kim Gi-hyeon (Gyeam Historic House, National Folklore Cultural Heritage 199) is a hanok with over 100 years of history that was established by renovating a nobleman’s house dating from the nineteenth century and equipping it with modern facilities. The Gyeongju Kim clan has lived in the Seosan area, a fertile stretch of land in the middle of the west coast region, for over 600 years. The house has been open to the public since 2010, and attracts many Korean and foreign guests. The owner renovated the old house by installing a modern bathroom, sink, kitchen and air-conditioning and filling it with antique furniture, and transformed it into a clean and pleasant tourist accommodation with high-class bedding in order to avoid the stereotype about hanok being uncomfortable. In particular, the kitchen has been transformed into a modern facility where guests can enjoy a cup of tea or a meal. The house is also packed with charming features including a small old well equipped with a pump, a wood-burning stove with an iron pot, and a platform for crocks of sauces and condiments. The House of Kim Gi-hyeon is home to the small Wadang (Roof Tile) Museum, which contains a collection of roof tiles ranging from the Goryeo Dynasty to the Joseon Dynasty. The friendly owners also run a ‘Wadang Rubbing Experience’ program that is popular among foreign tourists and students alike, and strive to provide all their guests with comfort and relaxation and share pleasant moments with them. The house’s courtyard reflects the beauty of each season, including flower blossoms in spring, colorful leaves in autumn, and a snowy landscape in winter.

Ermitage Ganworam à Seosan (간월암(서산))

Ganwolam désigne un ermitage bouddhiste situé sur la petite île de Ganwoldo à Buseok-myeon, Seosan-si dans la province du Chungcheongnam-do. Il fut fondé par le moine Muakdaesa, conseiller du roi Taejo Lee Seong-gye sous la dynastie Joseon. L’ermitage tient son nom du fait que Muakdaesa aimait s’y rendre pour se baigner et profiter de la clarté de la lune.
L’île et le littoral où se trouve l’ermitage de Ganwolam changent parfois d’apparence à marée haute et marée basse. Le paysage au crépuscule et au clair de lune est particulièrement prisé par les visiteurs.

La plage Mongsanpo, qui se trouve dans la municipalité de Taean-gun dans la région de Chungcheongnam-do, est la plus grande plage sur la péninsule de Taean.
