There are two markets in the Yongmun area: the permanent Yongmun Millennium Market and the Yongmun Traditional Market, the latter of which opens on dates ending in 5 and 10. Boasting around 200 stalls, this 5-Day market is conveniently situated right in front of Yongmun Station on the Gyeonguijungang Line. It offers a variety of items including handmade products, clothes, and snacks like twisted donuts and fried whole chicken, as well as vegetables and fruits. The market is bustling with food, sights to see, and entertainment. Visitors are invited to come and experience the vibes of a traditional Korean market.

Yongmunsan Recreational Forest offers log cabins, camping sites, a multipurpose playground, walking paths, and hiking trails. Gapyeong Naengmyeon Buson is renowned for its Pyeongyang-style memil guksu (buckwheat noodles) served in a light, clear broth. The restaurant's signature dish is the siraegi deulgireum makguksu (buckwheat noodles with dried radish leaf and perilla oil). Siraegi, made from dried cabbage leaves or radish leaves, are rich in vitamins. When placed on top of memil myeon (buckwheat noodles) and mixed with deulgireum (perilla oil) and soy sauce seasoning, it creates a uniquely delightful flavor. Complementing this dish are side servings of yeolmu kimchi (young summer radish kimchi) and tangy mujeorim (pickled radish). Additionally, their gamja jeon (potato pancake) is noteworthy for its savory taste and crispy texture.

Situated only 40 minute's drive from Seoul, the Jungmisan Observatory is nestled within Jungmisan Recreational Forest 437 kilometers above sea level. In addition to the beautiful natural scenery, the main draw of this particular location is that there is no other place near Seoul as this forest where one can get an excellent view of the night sky. From Seoul, one might expect to see about three stars on a good day, while at the Jungmisan Observatory one can typically observe over 3,000 stars.

Jungmisan Observatory provides an experiential learning center that offers astronomy programs for children, including preschoolers. Jungmisan Recreational Forest unfolds at the end of a lovely drive along the famous Nongdachigogae Road, the highest ridge road in the vicinity of Seoul. The forest boasts a striking landscape of thick groves of trees and a view overlooking the Namhangang River. During some mornings, the forest’s log cabins are veiled by a thick fog, further adding to the beautiful natural ambience.

Rising 834 meters above sea level, Jungmisan Mountain is a popular sunrise destination frequented by throngs of hikers every year. Thick forests of pine trees create a rooftop of branches from spring to fall. Being surrounded by the tall mountains of Baegunsan, Yumyeongsan, and Yongmunsan, Jungmisan Mountain feels like it is in the inner mountainous region of Gangwon-do, although it is close to Seoul.

The forest has log cabins that can accommodate groups of 4 to 10 people as well as campsites that complement the surrounding natural environment. Visitors can enjoy a comfortable walk through the trees on a trail that winds through the heart of the forest.

Yangpyeong Paragliding Park (양평패러글라이딩파크)

Yangpyeong Paragliding Park is a place where one can fly freely in the sky at 862 m, the highest altitude available in Korea, and take a walk in the clouds. Tandem flights are available for two people as a group with a pilot, so anyone can enjoy a two-seat tandem flight safely. Visitors can choose from several courses, including a relaxing course flying without taking any photos, a couple course where two gliders fly close together, and a special course to learn how to pilot oneself. Aside from the relaxing course, all courses can take videos and photos, making it great for making memories. The duration is about 10 to 25 minutes. The park may be closed due to weather conditions such as rain or strong winds, so please check in advance before visiting.
