Explanation
Yangsodang is a traditional hanok in Sosan Village located about a 15-minute drive from Andong Station. Having the history of about 230 years, it shows a chaste charm as the head house of Andong Kim clan. Being a ‘real’ hanok that was built by joining woods without using a nail, it is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of a traditional house. Among others, the east yard of Yangsodang is the best spot to appreciate the beauty of hanok while sitting on a bench. In summer, the yard changes cloths with dark pink crape myrtles, and in winter, the yard is covered with soft snow. There are five rooms, including the inner room of Anchae, the the side room of Anchae, Kensarangchae and more, and each room except the small room has a spare space, such as a veranda and living room. The inner room of Anchae, a large ondol room, is where the owner lived, and the side room of Anchae has the window through which you can see the faraway view of Hakgasan Mountain, and Kensarangchae with two rooms and a living room often accommodates a family of four. The accommodation offers hanji (Korean paper) craft experience program, where you can have an opportunity to make hanji craftworks, such as a pen pot and a mirror.
