Sangyujae is the oldest hanok in Jeongseon-gun and has been designated a Gangwon-do tangible cultural asset. Next to the old stone wall stands a beautiful mulberry tree, which at 600 years old is itself a natural monument. The house consists of a sarangchae where visitors can stay, and an anchae, in which the owner resides. Rooms are equipped with ondol underfloor heating and bathrooms - but not TVs, the absence of which helps guests focus on their companions and on the traditional experience. Jeongseon Arirang Market is a short walk away.

Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village in Gangneung, Gangwon-do was created to promote hanok architecture and to spread the ideas of Joseon scholar Yulgok Yi I; close by is Ojukheon House, the home of Yi I and his equally famous mother Shin Saimdang. Many types of accomodation are offered including guestrooms, standalone houses, duplex rooms, and one room equipped with a bed and facilities for disabled visitors. There is even a small lecture hall for the use of overnight guests. Gyeongpo Lake and Gangneung Olympic Park (where PyeongChang Winter Olympics were held) are also nearby.

Gajae-Wa-Gom is a log-built pension in the upper Heungjeong Valley in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. The guestrooms are cozy cabins, either red-clayed single-storey, or two-sotrey cabins. Changsil Old House is a courtyard hanok in Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It was built in 1917 by Sim Ho-taek of Songso as a home for his younger brother. The anchae (women’s house) and the sarangchae (men’s house) are arranged side by side, with the connected library and storeroom between them. Just inside the gate is a haengnangchae (servants’ quarters), and there is also a thatched hanok which is currently being rented out as a red clay room.
