This pike eel restaurant on Gyeongdo Island is said to be the first place in Korea to offer gaetjangeo shabu-shabu. It is located at the entrance to Gyeongdo Quay at Oedong Village, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of Yeosu as you dine. The restaurant serves pike eel dishes made with pike eel caught by the owner, and from late April to early November, it serves gaetjangeo shabu-shabu, also known as “hamo yubiki.”

Hanhwa Aqua Planet Yeosu is the second largest aquarium in Korea and the first to be built entirely aboveground. Opened in 2012 with the Yeosu World Expo, the aquarium is an environmentally friendly building, using solar power for most of its energy use. The aquarium is divided into different sections such as Ocean Life, Marine Life, and Aqua Forest, as well as a hands-on experience zone. There are approximately 55,000 marine animals of about 300 species including rare animals such as beluga (white whale) and baikal seal living in the aquarium.

Yeosu Station began operations on December 25, 1930 as an ordinary station on the new railway connecting Gwangju and Yeosu. Later, the site was used as a venue for Yeosu World Expo, so the station was moved to Deokchung-dong and renamed as Yeosu Expo Station on October 1, 2011.

Dolsando is the seventh largest island in Korea and is connected to the mainland via Dolsan Bridge. Ever since construction was completed on December 15, 1984, the 450 meter-long, 11.7 meter-wide bridge has become a popular tourist attraction.

There is plenty to see on Dolsando Island including numerous scenic spots and historic sites such as Dolsan Park, Musulmok Battlefield, Jeollanam-do Fisheries Exhibition Hall, Bangjukpo Beach, Hyangiram Hermitage, and Eunjeogam Hermitage. Located beneath Dolsan Bridge is a life-sized model of a Geobukseon (Turtle Ship), which played an important role in the Korean Navy’s victories during the Imjinwaeran War (1592-1598). Visitors will also find plenty of seafood restaurants lining the paved coastal road.

Rostia is a dining café overlooking the sea in front of Dolsan, Yeosu. Popular menu items include the Dolsan gat suje burger (Dolsan leaf mustard fresh burger), made with the specialty of Yeosu, and the Truffles myeongnan gat pasta (Truffles pollack roe pasta with leaf mustard). As a large café, it offers beanbags and swings for guests to relax after their meal. The changing scenery of the sea, depending on the tides, adds to its charm.

Nestled at the foot of Maraesan Mountain (alt. 385.2 m), Chungminsa Temple (Historic Site No. 381) was built by Lee Sieon (unknown - 1624), and was commissioned by Lee Hangbok (1556-1618) after the Imjinwaeran War (Japanese Invasion) upon King Seonjo's (1601) command. The shrine was forced to be demolished by Japan in 1919, and only two sections remained. In 1947, they were then rebuilt by local residents in the end. It was designated as Historical Site No. 381 on June 1, 1993.

* Chungminsa Hamabi (stone statue)
At the entrance of Chungminsa Temple, Hamabi (stone stuatue) is set up with a 1.4 m-x_height, 42 cm-x_width, and 10 cm-thickness, with the word "Hamabi" written on the stone, meaning "expressing one's respect", and in front of the palace is a Confucian shrine, the birthplace of the sages that symbolizes the temple's significance. This stone used to be 100 m away but was moved to its current site when a detour road was built.
