Es uno de los principales festivales de primavera de Busan. El término “eobang” era una denominación que se daba a los grupos pesqueros de esta zona, especialmente en aquellas épocas cuando abundaban los trabajos de la pesca. Por lo tanto, con el fin de mantener esa tradición pesquera, se ha añadido el mismo término en el nombre del festival. Cerca de las áreas del festival se ubican la playa Gwangalli y el puente Gwangandaegyo, entre otros destinos turísticos. El festival está compuesto por una gran cantidad de actividades divertidas y espectáculos, como el de capturar peces con la mano, un campeonato gastronómico, etc. De entre todas las atracciones que presenta el festival, uno de los motivos principales por el que es visitado por turistas de todo el país es que, durante el período del evento, se pueden degustar pescados crudos rebanados y frescos, a precios asequibles.
