Sus aguas que caen estridentes y magníficas por sobre un estrecho desfiladero se semejan en gran manera al dragón que levanta vuelo hacia el cielo, y por ello, fueron denominadas cascadas Biryong (dragón al vuelo). Desde la entrada al Parque Nacional del Monte Seoraksan, se extiende hasta estas cascadas un sendero relativamente amplio, que atraviesa un bosque de pinos que tornan las caminatas en verdaderos paseos de placer.

Cruzando el puente Biryonggyo, que se encuentra en el curso más bajo del valle Cheonbuldong, llamado Ssangcheon, y andando unos 30 minutos hacia el lado izquierdo llegará a las cascadas Yukdam, constituidas por 6 caídas y un profundo estanque. Ascendiendo unos 300 m desde esta área (unos 20 minutos a pie), avistará las cascadas Biryong entre un estrecho y escarpado desfiladero. Además, siguiendo el trayecto ascendente del valle Towanggol, un camino rocoso, se presenta a la vista unas inmensas cascadas conformadas de 3 caídas escalonadas denominadas Towangseong, pero debido a que su recorrido es extremadamente peligroso, el acceso al público en general se encuentra prohibido.
