Chaewondang is a traditional Korean house located just in front of Seomjingang River Train Village, the best tourist spot in Gokseong. It is only 200 meters from the main gate of Chaewondang to the ticket office of the train village. Chaewondang boasts a well-shaped and spacious interior space, like a newly built Hanok. When you enter the room, you can feel the cleanliness of the uniqueness of the new house. The wooden pillars and beams, the eaves, and the roof of the tile create the charm of Hanok. The grass yard, flower beds, and jangdokdae are also worth seeing and the rice paddies and rural scenery spread out in front of Chaewondang are picturesque. The rooms are divided into sarang rooms and interior rooms. The sarang rooms are a place where a family can relax and take a rest comfortably. Santuario Dangunjeon de Gokseong (곡성 단군전)

El Santuario Dangunjeon de Gokseong fue construido en honor a Dangun, una figura legendaria conocida por ser el fundador de Gojoseon, o la antigua Corea. Se sabe que es el nieto de los cielos y el hijo de Hwanung. Según la leyenda, un oso y un tigre que deseaban convertirse en seres humanos acudieron a hablar con Hwanung y este concedió su deseo diciéndoles que evitaran la luz del sol durante 100 días y que vivieran solo consumiendo ajo y artemisa. A diferencia del tigre, que se rindió, el oso siguió fielmente las instrucciones y se transformó en una mujer, quien luego se casó con Hwanung y dio a luz a Dangun.

Localizado cerca de Yeonguncheonbyeon, en Gokseong-eup, el Santuario Dangunjeon se fundó por primera vez en Hakjeong-ri, Samin-dong, en 1916 por Shin Tae-yun, también conocido como Baekdang; pero luego se trasladó a su ubicación actual y se reconstruyó en 1931. Se lleva acabo el rito ancestral en el santuario el 3 de octubre (Día de la Fundación Nacional) y el 15 de marzo para presentar sus respetos a Dangun. Asimismo, era un lugar donde los civiles se reunían para tomar un juramento de patriotismo en acción contra los japoneses durante el período de colonización de Japón; se pueden encontrar dentro del área una placa de piedra que conmemora el Movimiento de la Independencia del 1° de Marzo y el Salón de Baekdang dedicado a Shin Tae-yun. Este último fue capturado por los soldados japoneses durante el movimiento y estuvo dos años en prisión.

Maewoldang (매월당)

White Village, located on the banks of Daehwanggang River, boasts of wonderful views in a natural environment. The scenery around the river changes picturesquely every season against the background of the mountains and the sky: light green trees and cherry blossoms in spring; cool water play in summer; dazzling tinted leaves in autumn; and snowy scenes in winter. The environment is so clean that one might encounter wild ducks, elks, or even an otter while walking around the accommodation. If you enjoy fishing, it is a great idea to take your tools in the Daehwanggang River. The Daehwanggang Trail is also close to White Village. Including paths around mountains as well as ones around the river, the trail takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete and is mountain bicycle-friendly (MTB), about 1 km-long stretching from the Amnok Recreation Area to the Seomjin River. Major attractions in Gokseong such as Seomjingang Train Village, Taeansa Temple, and Jo Tae Il Poetry Memorial Hall are about 15-20 minutes away by car. The Zipline, which opened recently opposite the Gajeong Station, is only about 3 4 minutes away.
