Seongjong, fue el nieto del rey Sejo, y 2º hijo de Deokjong (designado “Chujon”, término que se le atribuía a aquellos que fallecían antes de llegar al trono), que nació en el 3º año del reinado de Sejo (1457), y asumió el poder a los 13 años de edad (1469). Durante los 25 años de reinado, logró grandes avances científicos. Falleció a los 38 años de edad (1494). La reina Jeonghyeon, fue la hija de Buwongun Yunho, un funcionario de la corte de alto rango, que ha sido designada como reina en el 11º año del reinado del rey Seongjong (1480), y fallece a los 69 años de edad, en el 25º año del reinado de Jungjong (1530).
Por otra parte, el rey Jungjong, fue el 2º hijo de Seongjong, nacido a los 19 años del reinado de Seongjong (1488). Llega al trono en el año 1506, y fallece a los 57 años de edad (1544). Esta área de la tumba corresponde al Sitio Histórico Nº 199, a pesar de que se encuentra ubicada en el centro de la ciudad, presenta un ambiente tranquilo, ideal para las caminatas.
