Seogwipo Recreational Forest (서귀포자연휴양림)

Seogwipo Recreational Forest is Korea’s southernmost recreational park that serves as an excellent nature getaway by preserving the mountain’s forest environment and ecosystem while minimalizing manmade structures as much as possible. The park is located approximately 700 meters above sea level, and is 10 °C lower in average temperature compared to that of Seogwipo’s downtown, providing the ideal condition to enjoy forest bathing and camping from spring to fall. The park is easily accessible by car, thanks to the paved road from the mountain’s foothills all the way up to the park’s entrance. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Seogwipo’s downtown to the recreational park. The park is densely packed with trees and the air is filled with the refreshing forest scent, and even has a pebble walking trail suitable for a barefoot massage. The forest is equipped with amenities such as a mountain cottage, forest bathing site, campfire site, cooking area, and auto-camping site. Although the amenities serve to provide visitors’ convenience, they are minimized so as to prevent damage to the forest’s natural environment.

Nonjinmul (논짓물)

Nonjinmul is a natural beach created as spring water flows into the sea, causing seawater and freshwater to meet. “Nonjinmul” means “just throwing away the water” because the spring water rises up close to the coast and cannot be used for agricultural or drinking water. Currently, a large amount of freshwater flows into the sea, and it has an embankment, pools, and showers, making it a popular swimming spot. In the summer, the Yerae Eco Village Experience Festival is held here, where visitors can enjoy various memorable experiences, such as catching olive flounder with one’s bare hands. Nonjinmul is part of the Jeju Olle Trail Course 8. Yerae Coastal Road, stretching out next to it, is an excellent driving course where one can enjoy the seascape. It is also great to stop by Nonjinmul while enjoying trekking or driving. However, the waves are strong outside the saltwater pool, so caution is needed to avoid accidents.

Nandreubadang (난드르바당)

Nandreubadang specializes in Jeju black pork, which offers soft yet chewy meat and a light taste compared to regular pork. Customers can taste grilled black pork while admiring the fantastic ocean view; many people visit this restaurant just for the sake of the meat, despite the lack of famous tourist attractions nearby. For a basic serving of 2 persons, 600 grams of Jeju black pork is served with red-banded lobster soybean paste jjigae. Steamed eggs and corn cheese served outside the meat grill are also delightful delicacies. They also sell prawns that can be grilled with black pork and the seasonal conch skewers. What’s unique is the salted pearl-spot chromserved as a sauce for dipping the meat. Visitors who opt to sit outside are recommneded to arrive earlier than mealtime.

Chunshim, located next to Changcheon Elementary School in Jeju, is a specialized restaurant known for its cutlassfish dishes. The signature dish is the tong galchi gui (grilled whole cutlassfish), where a whole cutlassfish is grilled and served. Additionally, they offer dishes like eungalchi jorim (braised cutlassfish) and a limited quantity of large-sized wang galchi gui (grilled jumbo cutlassfish). The first floor features a spacious dining area with an elegant atmosphere, while the second floor serves as a waiting area and sells Jeju specialties, including beverages like coffee.

It showcases the history of tangerines, their varieties, cultivation methods, and tangerine cultivation worldwide. Visitors can also purchase tangerine-related products at the Citrus Experience Center and Museum Shop. From November to February of the following year, visitors can experience tangerine harvesting. The café on the second floor offers various beverages made from tangerines.
