Seorak Waterpia es un parque temático de aguas termales ubicado en el monte Seoraksan. Cuenta con instalaciones de piscinas gigantes de aguas termales puras formadas en las montañas y muchas otras actividades de ocio al aire libre. Está dentro del Complejo Recreativo Hanwha Seorak. Las aguas que se utilizan son de las termas Cheoksan, que fueron formadas hace millones de años, y la cantidad de agua que se utiliza es aprox. 3.040 toneladas por día. Contiene muchos ingredientes alcalinos como sodio, calcio, magnesio, etc., mezclado con iones negativos como gas carbónico, cloro, ácido carbónico, ácido potasio, etc. que actúan positivamente contra el estrés, neuralgia, artritis y enfermedades geriátricas.

Waterpia fue inaugurado en 1997 como la primera instalación de aguas termales recreativas de Corea y cuenta con todo tipo de espacios recreacionales como el Wave Pool con olas artificiales, Yusu Pool que le hace sentir como si fuera llevado por la corriente de un río, Action Pool donde podrá practicar deportes y hacer juegos y Slider Pool tobogán de agua. También cuenta con instalaciones de sauna y baños de roca, Wonmoktang, Chimtang Nocheontang, etc. Además de todo esto, el centro recreativo Hanwha cuenta con un campo de golf de 18 hoyos, el multi Seorak Plaza Land y mucho más para su comodidad y deshacerse del estrés de todos los días. El monte Seoraksan se despliega desde el pico Daecheongbong (1.708 m), considerado el pico más alto de la cordillera Taebaeksanmaek, que constituye la columna vertebral de la península coreana. Siendo la montaña más bella de la tierra surcoreana, presenta paisajes naturales magníficos según el toque especial de cada estación: en primavera, se cubre de una gran variedad de flores coloridas; en verano, se convierte en una zona refrescante por las aguas claras y limpias del valle; en otoño, el paisaje es matizado por las hojas de los árboles; y en invierno, asombra a los visitantes por el panorama nevado.

Al monte Seoraksan se lo divide en dos regiones: Naeseorak es la parte occidental (Inje-gun) de la frontera del Paso de Hangyeryeong y del valle Misiryeong; y la parte oriental recibe el nombre de Oeseorak. Neoseorak es famoso por los valles Baekdam, Suryeomdong, Gugokdam, Gayadong, Sibiseonnyeotang, la roca Yongajangseong, el área de Gwittaegigol, la cascada Daeseung cerca de la roca Jangsudae, etc., entre otros lugares turísticos reputados. Desde Naeseorak podrá apreciar la belleza completa de los valles que tiene el monte Seoraksan, y, en especial, por la gran suma de valles, es ideal para el montañismo.

Opened in 1985, Cheoksan Spatel is a natural hot springs with strong alkaline water at 53℃, formed 4000 m below sea level. The water is said to be highly effective in the removal of impurities and treatment of skin conditions. Rooms available include both bedrooms and ondol (under-the-floor heating system) rooms. Each room has a small bath supplied with hot springs water in the bathroom. Guests are also offered a single-use ticket to the hot springs area.
There are plenty of onsite facilities as well, from the hot springs area with many different types of baths to ladies-only spa therapy at Spa Healing Center, walking paths through a pine grove, and an observation deck with a view of Seoraksan Mountain’s Ulsan Peak. Other attractions, such as Sokcho Museum, Seoraksan Botanical Garden, and Cheongchoho Recreation Area, is reachable by car in 10 min.
