Chemin des promenades Oeongchi Badahyanggi-ro à Sokcho (속초 외옹치 바다향기로)

Le chemin Badahyanggi-ro désigne un sentier côtier qui s'étend sur 1,74 km de la plage Sokcho jusqu'au port Oeongchi. Il est divisé en deux parties : la section de la plage Sokcho (850 m) et la section d'Oeongchi (890 m), chaque section offrant une ambiance différente.

Si vous voulez effectuer une balade tranquille le long de la mer, nous vous conseillons la section de plage Sokcho vous conviendra. Si vous voulez apprécier des paysages originaux et plus en relief, nous vous conseillons la section Oeongchi. L'accès à cette dernière a été interdit au public pendant des décennies. Grâce à ces mesures, ses merveilles naturelles sont restées intactes. Cette partie du sentier est également connue comme lieu de tournage de la série « Encounter ». Sur place, un sentier en bois et un chemin de terre longent la mer bleue alors que le clapotement des vagues procure une sensation de fraîcheur. L'eau est tellement claire qu'il est possible de voir le fond.

La section Oeongchi compte quatre parcours thématiques : le Chemin de méditation en bambou, le Chemin du ciel, le Chemin d'activité autour de la sécurité et le Chemin d'observation des roches. La grille en fil de fer barbelé que l'on peut voir le long du Sentier des activités autour de la sécurité fait partie de celle qui a été installée après l'infiltration de la guérilla communiste en 1970. Il est également amusant de voir les roches aux formes originales le long de la côte telles que le rocher en forme d'huître ou celui en forme de scolopendre.

There are two types of views, the ocean and the mountain, and the former tends to be more popular among the two.

First Floor Restaurant, located in the rooftop lounge on the 7th floor, is the other draw of the hotel. Its meals are served with an expansive and unobstructed view of the East Sea. The restaurant offers breakfast in the morning, and a pub serving food from the grill and beer in the evening. The hotel is located near Yangyang and Sokcho’s famous sights, such as Naksansa Temple, Naksan Beach, and Daepohang Port.

Helios Motel is located in the northernmost part of the East Coast in Sokcho, Gangwon-do. The motel is named after the god and personification of the sun in Greek mythology because the place is well-known for the beautiful sunrise and sunset. The motel has clean rooms, and offers laundry services, which include washing(boiling) and drying the clothes. Right in front of the motel are Jangsahang Port, Yeongnangho Lake, and Seoraksan Mountain, which create a picturesque landscape. The motel is only 2km from downtown Sokcho and a short walk to Deungdae Beach and Jangsahang Port. A number of other popular tourist attractions such as Yeongnangho Portm Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory, and Yeonggeumjeong are within walking distance as well. Yeonggeumjeong (영금정)

Yeonggeumjeong désigne l'espace autour du phare de Sokcho. Le terme Yeonggeumjeong provient de son des vagues heurtant les roches, un son proche du son de l'instrument geomungo. Le lieu est notamment réputé pour les vues des alentours depuis le pavillon situé au bout d'un pont de 50 mètres de long.

Temple Naksansa (낙산사)

Le temple de Naksansa, à 4 km au nord de la plage de Naksan, possède une histoire longue de 1.300 ans. Il fut bâti par le grand moine Ui-sang, sous le règne de Munmu, 30ème roi de la dynastie Silla (-57 ~ 935), et compte parmi ses monuments : une pagode de sept étages, une cloche de bronze et la porte de hongyaemun. De retour d’un séjour d’étude dans la Chine des Tang, il entra en contact avec la Boddhisatva de la compassion alors qu’il priait. Il décida de construire un temple à l’endroit même de sa rencontre et lui donna le nom de Naksansa. Reconstruit à maintes reprises, sa forme actuelle date de 1953.

L’entrée à Naksansa se fait par les portes de Iljumun et de Hongyaemun. Lorsque vous passez Hongyaemun vous pouvez voir de chaque côté des murs de terre et de pierres recouverts de tuiles ainsi que des bambous noirs. Au nord de la plage, à côté de la cloche de bronze se trouve une porte arrière donnant sur un chemin menant au pavillon de Uisangdae et à l’hermitage de Hongnyeon-am. Le pavillon Uisangdae se trouve au bord de la falaise, à l’endroit où Ui-sang avait l’habitude de s’asseoir pour méditer. Hongnyeon-am est un petit temple construit au dessus d’une grotte, il y a un trou de 10 cm qui permet d’ailleurs de voir la mer depuis le temple. Au delà du chemin qui mène au pavillon Uisangdae, se trouve plus haut le pic de Sinseong-bong, là s’y trouve une statue du Boddhisatva de la compassion, il s’agit de la plus grande d’extrême orient, elle est visible depuis le port de Mulchi.

Dongho Hoegwan (동호회관)

Located near Naksansa Temple, Dongho Hoegwan is the place where you can view a vast cornfield and majestic Mt. Seoraksan.
It has been in business for over 20 years and the staff is quite friendly and welcoming.
The house special ‘dolsotbap’ (nutritious rice cooked in a stone pot) is prepared with the pure mineral water from the Oseakyaksu Springs so the rice is green when it is served.
A variety of wild green salads are offered as side dishes as well as ‘ojingeo hoe muchim’ (uncooked squid salad).In the summer, the second floor is offered for accommodation.
