Le festival ICCN (réseau interurbain de coopération culturel immatérielle) du patrimoine culturel immatériel de Gangneung 2012 permet aux participants de découvrir pas moins de 16 oeuvres culturelles immatérielles enregistrées sur la liste du patrimoine de l’UNESCO, et ainsi, d’en savoir plus sur les cultures nationales des pays du monde entier. Le 4ème festival du café de Gangneung et le festival de Yulgok seront organisés à Gangneung à la même période.

Le festival du café à Gangneung a été inauguré en 2009 pour faire de Gangneung la ville du cafée en Corée. L'événement vise ainsi à promouvoir le développement de l'industrie du café à Gangneung.
