Le musée Arario Tapdong Cinéma est l'un trois musées faisant parti du grand musée Arario. Les deux autres sont le musée Dongmun Motel 1 et Dongmun Motel 2. Le directeur Kim Chang-il, un collectionneur d'art, a fait construire ce musée d'art contemporain en utilisant un bâtiment abandonné dans le quartier Tap-dong sur l'île de Jeju.
