El Estudio Fotográfico Chowon es famoso por ser el sitio de rodaje de la película Navidad en agosto, protagonizada por Han Seok Kyu y Shim Eun Ha. Esta película cuenta la historia de un amor imposible entre Jeong Won (Han Seok Kyu), que vive con su padre y sufre una enfermedad incurable, y Da Rim (Shim Eun Ha), una empleada de control de estacionamiento que un día aparece frente a él. La mayor parte del rodaje se realizó en el Estudio Fotográfico Chowon, que se encuentra en Wolmyeong-dong de Gunsan. Para el rodaje de la película, la producción decidió no grabar en sets arreglados y salió en busca de un estudio fotográfico por todo el país, sin conseguir una ubicación acorde a la película. Un día, vieron desde una cafetería donde habían entrado a descansar un rato un garaje con la sombra de un árbol de un día de verano y pidieron permiso al dueño para reformarlo como un estudio fotográfico. El nombre "Estudio Fotográfico Chowon" fue elegido por el actor Han Seok Kyu, quien dijo que era el nombre de un estudio fotográfico que se encontraba en el barrio donde vivió de niño. Una vez finalizado el rodaje, el Estudio Fotográfico Chowon fue desmantelado como fue prometido al dueño, pero la ciudad de Gunsan lo restauró nuevamente para ponerlo a disponibilidad de los visitantes de Gunsan de forma gratuita. En el Estudio Fotográfico Chowon se exhiben los objetos que aparecen en la película, tales como ventiladores, álbums de fotos, etc., y los administradores les envían a los visitantes las fotos que se toman allí a través del correo electrónico.

El templo Dongguksa templo fue construido por el monje japonés Seoneungbulgwan en 1909. Desde su construcción, el templo fue dirigido por monjes japoneses durante 36 años, y luego volvió a ser propiedad del Gobierno de Corea tras la liberación del 15 de agosto de 1945. Este es el único templo de estilo japonés existente en Corea. Parque Wolmyeong (월명공원)

El Parque Wolmyeong es un destino turístico popular en la ciudad de Gunsan y conecta cinco montañas en sus alrededores. La superficie total del parque es de 2,6 km² y hay un sendero de caminata de 12 km de longitud en el parque.

Desde la Torre Susi, parecida a una antorcha o una vela transportada por el viento, la gente puede ver la vista completa de la ciudad, el mar de Gunsan, la desembocadura del río Geumgang y la fábrica de fundición de Janghang.
