In the late Goryeo era, King Taejo ordered to build a large temple at the foot of Cheonggyesan Mountain for Preceptor Bogak to retire to hermitage. Now, the temple site has become a ruin, with only the Stupa of State Preceptor Bogak, called Jeonghyewonyung, lion stone lantern, and stele for Jeonghyewonyung at the site. Cheongnyongsa Temple, recently built, is also situated in the vicinity of the area along with other Buddhist cultural assets.

Gamgok Cathedral was founded in 1896 by Father Camillus Bouillon, who came to Korea from France directly after gaining his priesthood. The church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary due to the priest's prayers to the Blessed Mother to provide the land for the church.
The church has a long history spanning over 100 years. It was reportedly used as a shelter for local citizens from North Korean soldiers returning north during the end of the Korean War. The current structure was built in 1930, designed after the Myeong-dong Cathedral in Seoul. Also on the church grounds is Maegoe Museum, originally the house of Father Bouillon, which is now converted into a museum showing the history of this small, yet important Cathedral.

This is a simple station that closed in 2012, and the waiting room, the station office, the railroad that stretched out toward one point, and the vehicles that stopped there remain intact. Just standing in front of the door where the name of the history is visible or under the trees that are much taller than the history creates an emotional scene. It is decorated as a cultural space in every corner, so you can look around in detail or just enjoy a walk along the railroad tracks. The Garden of Confession, the ground-breaking floor painting, and the train not running are photo points.

The valley flowing from the top of Baegunsan Mountain to the north direction is called Yongsugol Valley. A dense forest, pristine waters and numerous rock formations in the vicinity all provide a beautiful scenery. The downstream area of the valley holds a large amount of water and it is a popular place for vacationers and visitors all year round. The forest park contains a wide variety of trees, some of which grow naturally while others have been more recently planted. In particular, the 1.7-kilometer section of the valley that stretches from the entrance to the resort area boasts breathtaking scenery and is lined with weigela and wild cherry trees. The park is carpeted with various wild flowers such as dicentra, columbine and hepatica, and wild animals such as water deer, wild boars, and raccoons are easily spotted.
