It has also proved its artistic excellence by winning five awards including the Grand Prize at the 5th Korea Musical Awards.
Marie Curie, a Nobel Prize–winning scientist, believes that the radium she discovered will become a beacon of hope for humanity. However, when co-workers of her friend Anne, a factory worker making radium watches, begin dying from a mysterious illness, she starts to question the safety of radium. Confronted with the tragedy her research has engendered, Marie faces a critical choice about whether to reveal the truth and risk forfeiting her life’s work.
“Marie Curie” offers a delicate portrayal of the moral responsibility and inner struggles of a human being hidden behind great scientific achievements. This production depicts the story of a woman who, despite facing prejudice as both a woman and an immigrant, stays true to her beliefs and joins other women to fight against injustice.
