Cheongok est une grotte de calcaire qui s'étend sur 1400 mètres. Elle est estimée avoir été créée entre 400 et 500 millions d'années auparavant. Ce qui fait sa grande caractéristique, c’est son cratère situé au plafond est qui est le plus long de Corée. On y trouve aussi des rideaux de stalactites, des terrasses, des cascades de stalactites et de nombreuses autres formations rocheuses impressionnantes. Cheongok offre un merveilleux spectacle pour les touristes et les passionnés de spéléologie.

Donganjae, a traditional Korean style house located near the beach in Donghae City of Gangwon-do, was opened in June 2018. The traditional Korean style house is equipped with modern facilities for convenience while still maintaining the elegant mood of a traditional house. The rooms are located in 5 traditional buildings. The foot bath in the garden gives the feel of a pool villa. Each of the 5 independent buildings (named Mureung, Duta, Chooam, Mukho, and Mangsang to accommodate 3-4 guests in each building) has an upper floor of which the three sides can be opened to command an unobstructed view. The outdoor foot bath in the center of the garden with pine trees relieves fatigue, and the soothing scent of pine trees completes the ambiance. It is possible to cook food in the room. Each room also has a bathroom equipped with bidet and a shower booth. The recently constructed buildings are also handicapped-friendly. There is a parking space exclusive for these guests. There is also no raised spot at the gate and the threshold is made very low for easy entrance and exit. Various tools such as Tuho, Yut, Jegi, and top are ready for playing traditional games. You can likewise try wearing hanbok, Korean traditional clothes. The nearby tourist attractions include Cheongok Natural Cave, Chooam Chotdaebawi Rock, Mangsang Beach, Mukho Por,t and Mukho Lighthouse. Situé à Donghae (Gangwon-do), le port Mukho était le meilleur port de commerce sur la côte Est en 1941. Il a depuis été transformé en port de pêche. Sur le site, on peut visiter un marché de fruits de mer avec un grand choix de calmars, de maquereau, de crabes, etc. Tôt le matin, les marchands se réunissent au marché pour acheter les fruits de mer frais. Le port Mukho est surtout très célèbre pour ses calmars (le plus grand marché de la cote Est) avec le port Jumunjin
Le port est aussi composé du phare Mukho avec son parc. On peut accéder à ce parc de trois façons : par un pont suspendu, par la route, ou par le sentier qui mène au phare ; ce dernier est décoré de peintures murales artistiques et des signes colorés.
Le bureau des affaires maritimes et portuaires de Donghae a entrepris de grands travaux de restauration pour transformer le port Mukho en un parc agréable pour aux touristes et aux résidents. Il est prévu d’y installer plusieurs équipements de loisirs d’ici à 2012.

La rue Nongoldam-gil relie le port de Mukho au phare de Mukho situé en hauteur. Il y a 30 ans Nongol était un port reconnu pour sa pêche de lieus jaunes et de calmars mais en raison d’une diminuation des ressources, plus de 20 000 habitants quittèrent la ville. Maintenant environ 4 000 personnes vivent dans cette ville à l’atmosphère calme et silencieuse.

Pour refaire vivre la ville, le centre culturel de Donghae proposa un projet au ministère de la culture, des sports et du tourisme, projet intitulé ‘Mukho Deungdae Damhwa’. En août 2010 le centre commença dans ce cadre un travail d’enquête auprès des personnes âgées du village Nongol pour connaitre leur vie et à partir de là décida d’en faire des peintures murales dans les rues du village. Les membres du centre diplômés en art firent les dessins tandis que les personnes âgées de 60-70 ans colorièrent ces dessins. Les premiers dessins de la rue retracent l’histoire du village.
