Situé à environ 6 km au nord du centre-ville de Gangneung, le parc provincial de Gyeongpo est entouré par de magnifiques lieux naturels et culturels : Gyeongpodae, le lac Gyeongpo et le lac Geyongpo). Le lac Gyeongpo abrite en particulier des espèces animales rares comme des cygnes et des canards colverts.

Connu comme l'un des endroits les plus pittoresques de Gangwon-do, Gyeongpodae est un endroit fascinant pour admirer la première pleine lune, et le lac Gyeongpo pour les amateurs de pêche (désormais interdite pour préserver l’écosystème).
La plage de Gyeongpo est aussi l’une des plages les plus propres sur la côte Est. On trouve aussi le lac de Gyeongpo, Gyeongpodae, le pavillon de Banghae, le pavillon de Hohae, le pavillon de Gyeongho, et le temple de Gyeongyangsa. Les visiteurs peuvent aussi profiter des attractions toute l'année dont la floraison des cerisiers au printemps, la natation en été, la pêche, et la marche sur la plage en hiver. On trouve aussi des restaurants près du parc qui proposent des plats locaux dont des sashimi frais (y compris le fameux calamar sashimi), des ragoûts de poisson épicés et du tofu Chodang.
