With a proud 20-year history, Arirang House is famous for its kimchi, which won a prize at the first Kimchi Festival. In 2003, the restaurant collaborated with Shilla Hotel and Paradise Hotel and successfully hosted a royal cuisine demonstration event, contributing to the promotion of Korean cuisine.

Arirang House serves delicious Korean cuisine in an elegant style. The food is carefully prepared by 11 chefs, including the chef who has thirty years of experience. The kitchen is divided into the side dish team, the special dish team, and the main course team to prepare a total of thirty or so specialized dishes. The flavors are enhanced by using only the freshest natural ingredients and not using any artificial seasonings. Prices vary by course, and each course comes with raw beef, samhap (a combination of three special foods), assorted raw fish, and steamed short ribs. The bossam kimchi (kimchi with slices of steamed pork) is also one of their specialties.

Le marché Daein de Gwangju est un bon exemple des changements que les marchés traditionnels ont du subier pour rester attractif dans la socitété moderne. C'était oroginairement le centre commercial des habitants du quartier qui venaient faire les courses, acheter des produits ménagers, etc. Mais avec l'apparition des grands supermarchés dans les 1990, le marché Daein est devenu de moins en moins attractif. A partir de cette période là, un grand nombre de magasins ont commencé à fermer les portes.

Cependant, le marché s'est vu revigoré en 2008 pendant le Gwangju Biennale. Beaucoup de magasins vides ont été loués pour accueillir des petites expositions d'arts, ce qui a créé un marché artistique. Grâce à ces efforts, le marché Daein a été désigné 'Attraction culturel' en 2013. Le marché est toujours très lié à l'art qui l'a sauvé. Les commerçants et les artistes vivent et travaillent ensemble en harmonie. Le marché nocturne qui ouvre ses portes tous les samedis est aussi très populaire.

Gare de Gwangju (광주역)

Située dans le centre de Gwangju, ville industrielle et culturelle, la Gare de Gwangju est une gare représentative dans la province sud-ouest de la péninsule coréenne. Elle fut ouverte en 1922 et fut déplacée à son endroit actuel en juillet 1969. En 2004, elle lança le KTX (le TGV coréen). De là, les trains partent en direction des gares de Yongsan (Séoul), Mokpo, Daejeon, et Suncheon.

Gwangju est la seule métropole et le seul centre de réseaux de transports dans le sud-ouest de la Corée. Elle accueille une variété de festivals et évènements internationaux tels que la Biennale de Gwangju (exposition d’art internationale) et le Festival Mondial de la Culture du Kimchi. La Gare de Gwangju est donc bondée de touristes toute l’année. Les attractions touristiques situées à proximité sont le Mont Mudeungsan et les Temples Jeungsimsa et Wonhyosa.
