Parc à thème maritime de Jinpo (진포해양테마공원)

Le parc à thème maritime de Jinpo a ouvert ses portes en 2008 pour commémorer Jinpodaecheop, une écrasante victoire de Jinpo menée par le général Choi Mu-seon lors d’une bataille navale contre les forces japonaises en 1380. Avec pour toile de fond un vaste paysage maritime incluant un port, le parc contient 16 appareils militaires de 13 genres différents. En exposition, on retrouve de vieux tanks, artillerie, avions de combat et navires de guerre incluant le Wibongham, le navire ayant servi pendant la guerre du Viêt Nam. Les visiteurs peuvent rentrer à l’intérieur des engins, devenus depuis obsolètes. Le site propose également la visite d’un hall d’exposition à l’intérieur du bateau Wibongham, présentant des armes utilisées lors de la guerre Jinpodaecheop, l’artillerie fabriquée par le général Choi Mu-seon ou encore la vie quotidienne telle qu’elle était à l’intérieur d’un navire de guerre.

Temple Dongguksa à Gunsan (동국사(군산))

Le temple Dongguksa fut construit par le moine japonais Seoneungbulgwan en 1909. Il fut dirigé par un moine japonais pendant 36 ans lors de l’occupation japonaise, et est revenu de droit à la Corée lorsqu’elle fut libérée le 15 août 1945. C'est le seul et unique temple de style japonais en Corée.

Le temple est caractérisé par ses deux bâtiments principaux (Daeungjeon et Yosachae) connectés par un corridor, et un relatif manque de décoration, ce qui marque un certain contraste avec les habituelles couleurs vives des temples coréens. Le temple Dongguksa, officiellement désigné comme bien culturel national n°64 en juillet 2003, est désormais une branche du temple Seonunsa de Gochang, le 24ème district de l’ordre bouddhiste coréen Jogye.

Hinokijam II is a guesthouse located near Wolmyeong-dong Community Service Center, Gunsan. Hinokijam I right across from Wolmyeong-dong Community Service Center has been in business since 2014, whereas Hinokijam II opened in 2015. Le Studio de photographie Chowon à Gunsan est connu comme le lieu de tournage du film 'Noël en août' avec les acteurs Han Suk-kyu et Shim Eun-ha.

Ce film raconte l’histoire d’amour inaboutie entre Jung-won (Han Suk-kyu), un photographe malade qui s’occupe de son père et à qui il ne reste que peu de temps à vivre, et Da-rim (Shim Eun-ha), une agente de contrôle de stationnement qui apparaît devant lui un jour. La plupart des scènes du film ont été tournées au studio de photographie Chowon au centre de Wolmyeong-dong à Gunsan-si. Lors de la production du film, l’équipe de production avait décidé de ne pas construire de plateau de tournage et a visité de nombreux vrais studios de photographie dans tout le pays, sans trouver le bon endroit. Un jour, les membres de l’équipe ont trouvé un garage à l’ombre d’un arbre aperçu à travers la fenêtre d’un café où ils étaient entrés pour se reposer et, avec l’accord du propriétaire, l’équipe l’a transformé en studio de photographie. Le nom « studio de photographie Chowon » a été choisi par l’acteur principal, Han Suk-kyu, qui s’est inspiré du nom d’un vrai studio de photographie du quartier de son enfance. Une fois le tournage achevé, le décor du film a été enlevé comme promis au propriétaire, mais restauré plus tard par la ville de Gunsan, afin d’offrir des excursions gratuites aux visiteurs de la ville.

Le éléments de décor du film tels que les appareils photo, les ventilateurs et les albums sont désormais exposés tels qu’ils étaient présents dans le film.

Musée d'histoire moderne de Gunsan (군산근대역사박물관)

La maison traditionnelle Hirotsu - 군산 신흥동 일본식가옥(히로쓰 가옥)

La maison traditionnelle Hirotsu a été classée en 2005 comme bâtiment faisant partie du patrimoine culturel de la Corée du Sud. L’établissement se situe dans le quartier de Sinheung-dong et appartenait auparavant aux hommes de pouvoir du gouvernement japonais en Corée. Elle a servi de lieu de tournage pour les films ‘Le fils de Changgun’ (Changguneui adeul), ‘Le combattant du vent’ (Balameui fighter), etc. L’architecture de la maison est typique des maisons des hauts fonctionnaires militaires de l’époque. Construite en bois et constituée de deux étages, cette maison apparaît comme le lieu idéal pour découvrir le mode de vie du gouvernement japonais à l’époque.

Main tourist attractions such as Gunsan Modern History Museum, Jinpo Maritime Theme Park, former Gunsan Customs headquarters, former Chosun Bank Gunsan Branch, Japanese-style house (Hirosi house) in Sinheung-dong, and Gongsukda Temple are located on the street and can be accessed from the guesthouse by foot. Chowon Photo Studio, the background of the movie Christmas in August, and Iseongdang as the oldest bakery in the nation are a mere three minutes away on foot. Also located nearby are Gyeongam-dong Railroad Village with old memories, Eunpa Lake Park with a wonderful night view, and Haemang Tunnel as a registered cultural heritage. The Accompany Room (dormitory) has wooden bunk beds that are suitable for single travelers. The common living room has photos of Gunsan in the 1920s - 1930s hanging on a wall, with the oil paintings, books, and music on the opposite side creating a cafe-like atmosphere. Breakfast (toast, coffee, tea, eggs, fruits, etc.) is provided every morning.
