Description
“Yerang, One Day in Hanok,” located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, is a spacious hanok complex that feels like a village in itself. Its owner built this house to share the unique experience of living in this nature-friendly and beautiful hanok. There are two units, all rented out in whole, combining contemporary comfort with the traditional aesthetics of hanok. This hanok with pillars made from red pine trees has bedrooms and ondol (under-the-floor heating system) rooms.
Midamjeon has two double bedrooms, one ondol room, and two restrooms, centered around the living room. Dongsimjeon has a living room, one double bedroom, and one restroom. The living room, which has a TV set and sofa, the well-equipped kitchen, and outdoor tables and grill at the courtyard all speak to the dedication of the owner toward the comfort of the guest. All units also have Korean traditional games like yunnori (traditional Korean board game), jegi chagi (Korean hacky sack), and tuho (arrow-throwing) to be played in the courtyard, where the wind blows from the forests surrounding the hanok, bringing songs of the birds. It is quite a picturesque experience.
