This hanok (traditional Korean house) hotel shows a different interpretation of hanok’s traditional beauty from Jeonju Hanok Village. The name of the hotel encapsulates Jeonju’s spirit as a city of tradition and art, and the exemplar of the state of Joseon. The hotel complex stands on a plot of land spanning 19,840 m2, containing 11 residential buildings and other facilities like hanok restaurants. Each residential building is named after the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Jeongjogwan contains six rooms,
all built to modern comfort for all age groups. Grade 2 Silver and Gold Rooms, which can house up to 6 guests, are especially popular for families. The rooms combine modern comfort with hanok aesthetics, like wooden exposed beams and wooden furniture, which help to fill the room with the elegant fragrance of wood.

Sangyoujae is the oldest hanok in Jeongseon-gun and has been designated a Gangwon-do tangible cultural asset. Next to the old stone wall stands a beautiful mulberry tree, which at 600 years old is itself a natural monument. The house consists of a sarangchae where visitors can stay, and an anchae, in which the owner resides. Rooms are equipped with ondol underfloor heating and bathrooms - but not TVs, the absence of which helps guests focus on their companions and on the traditional experience. Jeongseon Arirang Market is a short walk away.

Seongyojang House in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, is a Joseon period nobleman's dwelling with more than 100 rooms. Originally built by Moogyeong Lee Naebeon, a descendant of Prince Hyoryeong - the older brother of King Sejong the Great - it has since been frequently updated. With 12 gates and many buildings, Seongyojang is one of the largest surviving traditional houses in Korea. Halraejeong Pavilion was a resting place for Joseon scholars touring the sites of Gangwon-do, it’s famous signboard left by the scholar Chusa Kim Jeonghui. For the convenience of guests, modern toilets and showers are installed in all rooms.
